The term "cowboy boot" may conjure a variety of images depending on who hears it, as The Western movies and stereotypes have made cowboy boots immensely popular but on and off in the fashion world through the seasons. There are different names for the various types of toe shapes as the boot designers create and name them. But, the most familiarly known boots are - U-Toe, R-Toe and J-Toe, X-Toe, Roper Toe, and Chip Toe.
The R Toe is a medium rounded toe, with a practical taper enabling a smooth stirrup. The rounded design offers a more comfortable fit and also looks more traditional. The J Toe, on the other hand, is highly narrow and pointed variety of toe with the tip tapered into a V-shape.
The J Toe is considered by many as the classic cowboy boot. But the fact remains these are not the most comfortable of cowboy boots, as the toes are far too restricted.
You will find in the market J toe boots made from a variety of exotic leathers - Alligator leather, Cordova calf leather and stingray leather. There are also J Toe boots made with skins of Cobra, Deer, Lizard and Ostrich. Decide on the materials as exotic leathers and rustic leather may not match with formal attire. Think about where you are going to wear the J Toe boots most.
J Toe boots are known for aesthetic craftsmanship and quality J Toe boots usually weigh about 4 pounds a pair. Make sure to check the fit across the top of the boot when buying J Toe boots. As there are no any laces, the top of the boot should fit snug across the top of the foot. Try a variety of brands as different brands fit differently.
