Single breasted men’s suit means a suit with a coat or jacket having single row of buttons and a narrow overlap of fabric while a double-breasted suit has a wider overlap and two parallel rows of buttons. Single breasted suits are buttoned while standing.

Types of buttons

Buttons are very important aspect of suit. The selection of buttons depends on style, design, fabric and colors of the suit. Buttons are commonly measured in lignes also called lines and abbreviated L, with 40 lignes equal to 1 inch.
