There are two basic styles of spectator shoes. Cap Toes and Wingtips. The decoration of these shoes has been taken from a shoe style called as brogue. Except the brogue there will be stylish decoration made by stitching and perforation.

Wingtips

This is actually shape of the toe which defines the style of spectator. One of the most popular is black & white wingtip spectator. The toe part which is made of leather is most of the time black or brown dyed for both a capped toe spectator or a wingtip toe spectator. The leather- piece that is used to make the back part of the heal remains the same color as leather used in toe. The pieces of leather, that remains between the heal and the toe are usually dyed in white color. However, it's not the thumb rule and there may be variations in color.

How to wear them:

Here, we shall see the different combinations. A white and black is considered as solid white shoe. So the dresses will go like that. Similarly, a red & black spectator will be considered as red shoe. So the time to dress is like a red shoe in your feet. So the dressing rule goes like you are wearing a solid color. If today you are considering wearing black or dark colored pants and a khaki shirt, black spectators are cool to be considered.

There is not a very large community for wearing them. Someone who are still supporting dance and music of 90's and later are seen to wear spectators. It was time when spectators were considered specially by men. But these days, there are both, women's spectator and men's spectator shoes.

Women's turn

Now you can find them in different color combinations and not just black. Now days Red and Dark blue can be find in shelves. For black spectators the toe and heal area will be colored as black. For red and blue the heal area may also be in color of light red and light blues. You could wear them while dancing in the group in a day club function and it draws the attention accurately. Women's shoes are more on the shining side to get an extra attention.

As an experiments, you've got plenty of options. If you have got some high contrast spectators, they would be fine with different combination in summer and spring season. Along with your shoes, you could go with light colored clothing like white shirt , light seersucker, off white seersucker and pale blues.
